My son loves tractors and he has a little brother so the two-seat Gator was a perfect choice over some of the other vehicles out there. It was the hit of the party. My son jumped right on and started riding. After about a week, he had the hang of putting it in reverse and in high and low. It comes with a screw adjustment so that you can leave it as is and it will go 2.5 mph or take the screw out which give you a second gear and allows it to go 5 mph. We took the screw out because it just gave it more power. Our yard is a little bumpy and the Gator would get stuck in the ruts and spin its tires in low gear but in high gear, it zips right along. My biggest complaint is that it needs a shut-off switch or a key that can be turned off and taken out. (It has a key but it is not functional but is just for play.) They really enjoyed this, it goes fast enough for them and it is large enough for 2 to ride together. The 8 year old drives and the 2 year olds ride with her. Great Fun. Kept the charge and ran strong all afternoon. I read in one of the reviews that the battery did not keep a charge, I didn't have this problem but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. I had to look at the picture on the box to figure out how it went together. It is heavy and sturdy after you get it together. The battery however is hard to access to recharge. Very satisfied and would buy it again. |
